Employee Spotlight: Héni Ghariani

How long have you been at EarthDaily Agro?

I joined EarthDaily Agro in April 2023, so I’m new here. From the very beginning, I was welcomed with open arms by a team of talented individuals who share a passion for Earth Observation and remote sensing. I look forward to playing a vital role in this journey.

What’s your current position, and what does it entail?

I’m a Product Owner, and my role in EarthDaily Agro, is to be the bridge between Product Stakeholders and our Development Team. I’m responsible for defining what features to build and ship and making sure that every single feature will bring value to our customers, ensuring that we create a product that meets customers’ needs and also aligns with the company’s strategic goals.

With my colleagues, I guide the development process, making tough decisions when necessary, and always keeping a keen eye on delivering value to our users.

I’m passionate about Agile Management and new technologies, and it’s always a pleasure for me to see how our tech products evolve and witness the remarkable achievements we are attaining with the team, so I think that Product Ownership and Product Management, generally, is THE Job for me!

Have you grown professionally while on our team?

I’ve been here for only six months now, and despite the short period, I’ve gained remarkable knowledge, mainly about remote sensing and the satellite industry.

I also work on a highly technical product with multiple complex blocks, so I’m sure I’m making real progress, and learning new skills every day while working with EarthDaily Agro.

What accomplishment during your time at EarthDaily Agro are you most proud of?

What is awesome about the company, and especially the team where I work, is their remarkable openness to change and their receptiveness to suggestions. We recognize the value of different perspectives and are always willing to listen, learn, and adapt. As I said, I’ve been here for six months now, but from the very beginning of my work, I have suggested several changes to improve the Product Owner’s work processes, which were taken into consideration. It’s not a big deal, but I’m proud of that.

With the team, we are making significant progress working on a highly technical and complex product. I’m also proud of the progress we are making together.

Describe your values and how they inform your career.

Transparency and dedication are the guiding principles that shape how I approach my professional life.

Transparency, to me, means being open and honest in all my interactions. Whether it’s communicating with team members, colleagues, or stakeholders, I believe in providing clear and accurate information. This fosters trust and promotes a culture of integrity within the team. I firmly believe that transparency is the foundation upon which effective communication and collaboration are built.

Dedication, on the other hand, is about commitment and loyalty to my responsibilities.
It means demonstrating diligence, and motivation and giving my all to every task I undertake.

I take my job very seriously and I’m consistently striving for excellence.

Why do you like your job? What do you find most interesting?

As a Product Owner, you will be able to see the “whole picture,” and that’s what I like the most about my job. Normally, you will have a high level of understanding of nearly everything about the product or the feature you are working on. You will be able to define or help define a Product roadmap so the level of ownership and responsibility in the job is high. You will see the direct impact of your choices on the product’s success, and your decisions can help drive the product and the team to positive outcomes.

What do you think of the EarthDaily Constellation arrival?

Launching a satellite constellation is a monumental achievement in the realm of space technology, and I believe that EarthDaily Constellation will be a real game changer.

We are willing to launch the most advanced change detection system, with the most spectrally diverse range ever designed for a commercial mission.

With its 22 highly calibrated spectral bands covering visible, near, short-wave, mid-wave, and thermal-infrared bands covering nearly 100 per cent of Earth’s landmass imaged at the same time every day, I believe that EarthDaily’s super-spectral initiative will alter our understanding of how our planet is changing.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

I like music, and I used to be in a musical band. That was an interesting experience that taught me the importance of teamwork, and the power of artistic expression. Recently, I’ve been feeling a strong desire to reconnect with my musical roots, I think it won’t take me too long to be part of a band again.

I am also a big fan of movies. I like spending time watching movies (in the cinema especially) with friends.
