The Role of AgTech in a New Green World
Over the last few years, AgTech has become increasingly crucial. Whether it’s smart-home farming to enhance the quality of food or using satellite solutions to monitor crop growing cycles, innovation is impacting every aspect of our global economy and our personal lives.
Decision-makers in the AgTech industry are utilizing technology to give business and society new tools to tackle the world’s most perplexing issues and questions. How will climate change exacerbate the food crisis as the global population grows? What are the immediate green pressure points farmers face from limited water availability to runoff penalties? How will farmers get recognized and rewarded by the value they are creating?
On Tuesday, November 9, Cécile Tartarin, the Vice President of Products and Solutions at EarthDaily Agro, will join Bloomberg’s virtual event, AgTech: The Role of Tech in a New Green World.
Hosted by Michael Hirtzer, Bloomberg’s agriculture reporter, this round table format will foster an environment for an open conversation that will focus on how organizations are adopting an agile mindset to achieve their goals, and where they see the biggest challenges or pitfalls. Through the lens of emerging technologies, speakers will examine how local economies can utilize technology to become more self-sufficient in agriculture, strengthen the global food supply, and combat world hunger. Other speakers include:
- Jocelyn Boudreau, Chief Executive Officer, Hortau
- J. Brock Herr, Vice President & Counsel, Business Development, Indiana Economic Development Corporation
- Erik Josefsson, Chief Executive Officer, R-evolution (a subsidiary of Hexagon)
- Allison Kopf, Co-founder, Artemis
- Daniel Padrão, Chief Operating Officer, Solinftec
- Lindsay Suddon, Chief Strategy Officer, Proagrica
“I’m looking forward to engaging with these industry leaders and to hear from them first-hand,” said Tartarin. “The insights that we’ll undoubtedly draw from each other may help unveil the next big thing in AgTech.”
